Original WW1 Commemorative war medal of the Hanover military association (Kriegsdenkmünze des Hannoverschen Landes-Kriegerverbandes)
This war commemorative coin was donated around 1920 by the Hanover State Warriors' Association. Like many other regional warriors' associations, the Hanoverian Warriors' Association wanted to create a badge of honor for its members who did their duty during the World War. After World War I, there was no state award commemorating the war. However, many former soldiers wanted to have a commemorative and honorary badge as an external sign of their deployment. This was usually issued by the warrior association after checking the military documents, but had to be paid for privately.
Round bronze medal with raised edge. At the top a soldered ordinary eyelet with a band ring.
