Wehrmacht miniature steel helmet. Used for military proxy marriages.
Original painted miniature steel helmet with both decals partially remaining. Gilt inside. Many soldiers were unable to attend their own wedding during wartime. At the wedding ceremony, the bride puts her hand on the helmet and takes the marriage vow in his absence. The government recognized the vow as official.
