Air raid warning service armband reading L.S. Warndienst in white gothic lettering, woven into green rayon. The reverse shows the green and black woven-through pattern. The maker's initials M.&C.N. are woven into the edge. The Warndienst ran the air raid warning network, and this woven version dates from around 1942. It measures about 44 cm (17 1/4 in.). It is unsewn manufacturer's stock that was never closed into a band. Excellent unissued condition.
