Original prewar/interwar German aluminum canteen with a wool felt cover. Aluminum body with a threaded screw cap; the underside of the cap is stamped "MdI," consistent with an interior-ministry or police property marking of the period. The wool cover shows moth damage in several areas, and one of the two leather strap buckles is broken and no longer functions.
