Product Overview
German canteen by Heinrich Ritter of Esslingen, the pressed laminated body type collectors call the coconut canteen, with its brown ribbed Bakelite screw cap and leather keeper strap. The canteen is made by Ritter of Alufurit. It is paired with a black-painted aluminum cup stamped DMN 40 on the strap bracket. A cloth name tape reading H-A. Laumann is stitched to the leather cup strap. The flask sits in a brown wool felt cover with black leather strapping, buckle and hook. The cup has a dent, and the cup strap slide is crimped closed, so the cup has been left in place as found. Paint wear to the cup bracket and rim. Good used condition.
