Product Overview
German M31 aluminum canteen with its black-painted aluminum drinking cup, a fully matching set. The maker and date code FSS 39 is stamped on the flask neck, the screw cap and the cup's strap bracket, and the felt cover carries the same stamp. Matching sets like this are scarce, since parts were routinely swapped in the field. The brown wool felt cover is complete and snug, and the black leather strapping, buckle and hook are all present. The closure strap has been shortened. The cup's black paint is well retained with some wear at the rim and bracket. A solid, honest set in good used condition.
